Prepare your session.
For production
Include a rough bounce, tempo if known, key if known and notes on arrangement. Ask before sending an entire DAW project; versions and plugins may differ.
For mixing
Export clearly named tracks from the same start point, including effect tails. Keep a rough mix and explain any effects that define the sound. Agree whether to include dry and processed versions.
For mastering
Send the original-resolution stereo mix, avoid clipped exports and include your approved loud reference if you have one. Discuss any processing on the master bus before removing it.
For recording
Share lyrics or charts, backing tracks and the performer count. Confirm instruments, tuning, setup time and editing needs in advance.
For an ensemble
List instrumentation and players, score and parts readiness, cue lengths, breaks and click requirements. Confirm room capacity and crew before committing to a date.
